Deconstruction and reconsideration of the Mu&#8217;tazilite role in the &#8220;Inquisition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Abstract<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<i>Mi\u1e25na\u00a0<\/i>has usually been attributed to the Mu\u2018tazilite theological school as expression of something unusual, a bid\u2018ah (Islamic innovation) related to a rationalist group of theologians that tried, in strict political cooperation with al-Ma\u2018m\u016bn, to subvert the \u2018Abb\u0101sid caliphate system.<\/p>\n<p>The full support of relevant political and religious authorities, during the\u00a0<i>Mi\u1e25na<\/i>, to the caliph\u2019s purpose permitted at the \u2018Abb\u0101sids to post-pone for few decades, a period of decadence which started with the murderer of al- Mutawakkil in 861\/246.<\/p>\n<p>It is significant to analyze the role played by the Mu\u2018tazilite school during the\u00a0<i>Mi\u1e25na<\/i>, which if was theologically evident, it was also politically non-existent; a reconsideration of the importance of this rationalist school is necessary to make clearer who were the main persecutors during this short inquisitorial period in early \u2018Abb\u0101sid age.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":11662,"template":"","class_list":["post-14048","article","type-article","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"date_tournage":"","yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>The Mihna.
