He traces the way successive generations of exegetes and scholars, both in the Muslim world and in European Arabic and Islamic studies, have gradually shifted the reading of the Qur&#8217;anic text from a purely doctrinal register towards a close analysis of its structure, rhetorical figures, narrative strategies and modes of meaning-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article draws out the implications of this shift for Muslim theology as well as for Christian-Muslim dialogue: to consider the Qur&#8217;an as a text in its full literary depth, without reducing this approach to a weakening of its revealed dimension, and to open shared paths of reading between traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Issue 51 of <em>Islamochristiana<\/em> (M\u00e9langes), directed by Wasim Salman with David Marshall as guest editor, brings together contributions in Arabic, French, Italian and English on topics as varied as F\u0101\u1e6dima al-Zahr\u0101\u02be, the reading of Arabic Sinai Manuscript 154, religious radicalization in the Mediterranean, citizenship in Sudan, and Franciscan approaches to Islam.
