Summary: A study of the stories of the foundation of certain sanctuaries in Lebanon reveals the fluidity of the frontiers between different communities. A certain community may have been at the origin of a sanctuary of another community. The historical authenticity of these stories is not essential here; what is important is to show the continuity of what is transmitted from one community to another. One also finds a territorial continuity with the past: the place remains respected,\u00a0 whichever community actually is in charge of it.
