Contributions, requested from friends, former students and collaborators, did not necessarily had to concern his writings or his academic life, but rather had to be dedicated to his particular interests in the field of Islamic studies. The result is a substantial and very interesting number.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first three articles directly concern Father Borrmans: Archbishop\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Michael Fitzgerald<\/span>, his confrere, traces a brief\u00a0<a title=\"Fitzgerald\" href=\"https:\/\/en.pisai.it\/media\/309889\/fitzgerald.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">biographical profile<\/a>, with particular attention to his intellectual and academic path, which completes the\u00a0<em>In Memoriam<\/em>\u00a0appeared in\u00a0<em>Islamochristiana<\/em>\u00a043\/2017 by Andr\u00e9 Ferr\u00e9, M.Afr.;\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Giampiero Alberti<\/span>, a priest of the Diocese of Milan, presents a moving testimony of his friend Maurice;\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Vincent Feroldi<\/span>, Director of the \u201cService national pour les relations avec les musulmans de la Conf\u00e9rence des \u00e9v\u00eaques de France\u201d, makes his reflection on Borrmans\u2019 passion for dialogue with Muslims. The study of the Qur\u2019\u0101n is one of the specific interests of Father Maurice, so the articles by\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Genevi\u00e8ve Gobillot<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Paolo Branca<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Michel Lagarde<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Bartolomeo Pirone<\/span>\u00a0are focused on different aspects of its study and on the problem of its translation.\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Giuseppe Rizzardi<\/span>\u00a0reflects on the figure of Jesus in Islam and Christianity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some other contributions concern the\u00a0<em>kal\u0101m<\/em>, the\u00a0<em>falsafa<\/em>, Islamic studies and the relations between Christians and Muslims.\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Michel Youn\u00e8s<\/span>\u00a0questions the relationship between the Qur\u2019\u0101n and the\u00a0<em>kal\u0101m<\/em>\u00a0on the one hand, and between the Bible and Christian theology on the other;\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Diego Sarri\u00f3 Cucarella<\/span>\u00a0presents a treatise of \u1e24unayn b. Is\u1e25\u0101q, Nestorian author of the ninth century, concerning the criteria to identify the true religion, while<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">\u00a0Emmanuel Pisani<\/span>reports on the fierce criticism of Ab\u016b \u1e24\u0101mid al-\u0120az\u0101l\u012b against the b\u0101\u1e6dinites missionaries; finally,\u00a0<span class=\"grassettogrigio\">Cristina D\u2019Ancona<\/span>\u00a0reflects on the cosmological argument that necessarily postulates a divine cause, examining it in\u00a0<em>kal\u0101m<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>falsafa<\/em>\u00a0up to Thomas Aquinas. Family law, one of the beloved topics of Father Borrmans from the beginning, was the subject of his doctoral thesis and the subject of his teachings.
