Discussing the Divine Attributes in Muslim-Christian Dialogue."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has been a major question in traditional theological thinking\n how the Divine Attributes are to be understood. Recent debates in \nanalytical philosophy have allowed new approaches that, however, are \noften not linked to those traditional debates. The project &#8221; Building \nbridges between traditional thought and analytical philosophy &#8211; \nRethinking Divine Attributes in Islam and Christianity&#8221; aims at bringing\n the traditional theological discussions in touch with the modern \nanalytical debate. Moreover, analytical philosophy has mostly focussed \non Christian Theism, while we intend to explore the possibility of using\n analytical philosophy as a tool in inter-religious dialogue. Thus, the \nproject focuses on the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How can we perceive the attributes of Omnipotence and Omniscience, Justice and Mercy, Simplicity and Divine Action?<\/li><li>What can analytical philosophy contribute to an understanding of those attributes?<\/li><li>Is\n analytical philosophy an appropriate method to find a &#8220;common ground&#8221; \nbetween Muslim and Christian theologians who are dealing with similar \nquestions?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those questions will be explored in three \nconsecutive Summer Schools. This format aims at connecting people and \ndiscourses that would otherwise remain separated. The Summer School \n2021, &#8220;Justice and Mercy.
