On Sunday, February 4, 2024, five years after the signing of the “Document on Human Fraternity,” the fourth international congress organized by Pluriel, in partnership with the Emirati research center Trends, commenced in Abu Dhabi. The document, signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, enshrined the principles of fraternity and religious plurality. “The declaration emerges as a cry against extremism in the name of religion and an invitation not to exclude the other for any reason,” analyzes Pluriel\u2019s coordinator Michel Youn\u00e8s. Five years on, the University Platform for Research on Islam sought to academically study the impact and prospects of this document, with more than forty researchers from three continents and various disciplines participating.<\/p>\n\n
