The history of the Quran, plural readings<\/h2>\n\n

Participate in two days of reflection and training with researchers and Islamologists to read, interpret and also translate the sacred Book of Islam.<\/strong> \n \nThe book Le Coran des historiens<\/em> testifies to the effervescence of research<\/strong> on the Quran and its recent renewal from a historical perspective. But what about this work and is it now possible to read each verse of the Quran in the light of critical history<\/strong> or should we recognize that this effervescence is only in its infancy? \n \nIt is with this question that this in-depth session will open with the intervention of one of the linchpins of this work, Professor Fran\u00e7ois DEROCHE of the Coll\u00e8ge de France<\/strong>. \n \nBut the history of the Quran is also that of its plural readings. \n \nBeyond the historico-critical approach, the session will evoke the mystical reading of the Quran<\/strong>, with the professor at the EPHE, Pierre LORY. Aziad\u00e9 ZEMIRLI and Amal BELKAMEL will introduce us to legal and then scholastic interpretations of this Book-History.<\/p>\n\n

Monday, May 13<\/strong> \n \n9:30 am – 12:30 pm \nThe manuscripts of the Quran and the history of the text \nProfessor Fran\u00e7ois DEROCHE<\/strong> \nIslamologist, historian and codicologist, specialist in Arabic manuscript books and Quranic manuscripts, member of the Institute and professor at the Coll\u00e8ge de France, holder of the chair “”History of the Quran”” \n \n2:00 pm – 5:00 pm \nA legal reading of the Quran in Arab countries \nDr. Aziad\u00e9 ZEMIRLI<\/strong> \nJurist, former post-doctoral researcher at Ceped, associate researcher at CAREP, she is interested in the relationship between law and religion in Algeria and in Arab countries. She is a member of the “”Islam and Otherness”” laboratory of the Institute of Science and Theology of Religions (ISTR) \n \nTuesday, May 14<\/strong> \n \n9:30 am – 12:30 pm \nThe Quran of the Mystics \nProfessor Pierre LORY<\/strong> \nIslamologist, emeritus director of studies at the \u00c9cole pratique des hautes \u00e9tudes, where he held the chair of “”Muslim Mysticism””. He is a member of the Laboratory of Studies on Monotheisms of the CNRS, member of the editorial board of the journal Arabica. \n \n2:00 pm – 5:00 pm \nThe Quran of the Theologians \nAmal Belkamel<\/strong> \nDoctor in religious sciences. Teaching researcher associate member at LEM (UMR 8584), she works on Quranic and theological exegesis<\/p>\n\n
