As part of the Anawati Chair “Combating Religious Extremism through Interfaith Dialogue”, the Dominican Institute for Oriental Studies in Cairo, in partnership with the University of Insubria (Varese and Como), is organizing a summer school in July 2025, aimed at doctoral students or those who have recently defended their doctoral thesis (after January 1st<\/sup>, 2023) on the theme of citizenship and religious pluralism.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

From an interdisciplinary perspective, the Summer School<\/em> will welcome 25 doctoral students<\/strong> or those who have defended their theses in 2023 or 2024, from all universities or academic institutions in the Mediterranean Basin<\/strong> who are working on this issue within their discipline (political science, law, history, philosophy, theology, economics).<\/p>\n\n

Course of event<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Each student will be required to present the status of their research, their research question, hypotheses, and findings. The discussions will allow for broadening and enriching everyone’s reflections, as well as creating an international network of young researchers working on this theme. Students must submit a text in English summarizing their presentation, between 1500 and 2000 words, by May 31, 2025.<\/p>\n\n

During the Summer School, five <\/strong>Scholars<\/strong><\/em> from various disciplines will give presentations and facilitate the week’s exchanges and discussions.<\/p>\n\n

The working language will primarily be English.<\/p>\n\n
