In a world where interfaith dialogue is essential, the figure of Mary, mother of Jesus, occupies a central place in bringing together Christian and Muslim traditions.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organized by the Institute of Sciences and Theology of Religions (ISTR) in partnership with the Together with Mary movement, this study day will focus on Marian devotion in these two religions. It will explore how certain Marian pilgrimage sites, such as Fatima or Harissa, have become shared spaces, welcoming both Christian and Muslim believers.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issues and themes addressed:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What practices surrounding Mary promote interreligious encounters?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How can we understand this shared religiosity and its implications?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can Mary be seen as a shared spiritual figure without proselytism or syncretism?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This day will bring together various approaches &#8211; historical, anthropological, sociological and theological &#8211; to shed light on these questions.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program of interventions<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Virgin as Healer: Healing with Christ in European Sanctuaries &#8211; Sylvie Barnay, Associate Professor at the University of Lorraine and Lecturer at the Catholic Institute of Paris.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Foundations of Marian Devotion in Catholic Theology &#8211; F. Patrick Pr\u00e9tot, Higher Institute of Liturgy, Faculty of Theology, Catholic Institute of Paris.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shared devotions from one shore to the other of the Western Mediterranean &#8211; Dionigi Albera, CNRS Research Director, IDEAS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Muslim Presences in Marian Shrines: Bethlehem, Ephesus, Lourdes &#8211; Mano\u00ebl P\u00e9nicaud, CNRS Research Fellow, Centre Jacques Berque, Rabat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why and how do Muslims venerate Mary? &#8211; Cherif Mustapha, University Professor, philosopher and theologian, expert in cultural and religious dialogue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pilgrimage to Lourdes: between Christians and Muslims &#8211; J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lequime, teacher, columnist, passionate about ethics, sacred art and interfaith dialogue, and Salima Alaoui.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current debate on Mary&#8217;s intercession: In Shiism, Mary and Fatima are very close &#8211; Abdelghani Benali, professor at the University of Paris, consultant and president of the French Institute of Civilizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why participate?<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This event represents a unique opportunity to explore a rarely discussed but crucial topic for Islamic-Christian dialogue.
