The issue brings together six contributions from researchers of the <em>Pluriel<\/em> network, each examining the Muslim-Christian relationship through legal analysis, theological reflection or the critique of ideological drifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the editorial that opens the volume, the three coordinators recall the scientific dynamic driven by <em>Pluriel<\/em>, structured by its successive congresses: Lyon 2016, Rome 2018, Beirut 2022, Abu Dhabi 2024 and Cordoba 2026. Together, they argue, these conferences sketch out &#8220;a genuine research grammar: from the plurality of Islamic expressions, to the examination of belongings, then to the test of otherness, opening onto a fraternity at once civil and theological.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The six contributions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/en\/chercheur\/michel-younes\/?lang=en\"><strong>Michel Youn\u00e8s<\/strong><\/a>, &#8220;Comparative Theology, a Vector for a New Approach to Religious Diversity?&#8221;<\/strong> opens the issue by tracing the genesis and structuring of comparative theology, developed notably by Francis X. Clooney, Catherine Cornille and Klaus von Stosch. An emerging discipline, this approach sets itself apart from the theology of religions and interreligious dialogue by giving priority to a genuine learning &#8220;from the other,&#8221; understood as an opportunity for reciprocal transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tobias Specker, &#8220;From Proof to Literary Science: the Inimitability of the Quran (i\u02bf\u01e7\u0101z), a Theological Problematic and a Source of Inspiration&#8221;<\/strong> proposes, drawing on Navid Kermani&#8217;s contemporary approach to Quranic revelation and an illustration from Iyas Hassan&#8217;s recent work, to highlight the aesthetic dimension of revelation. This perspective opens up paths of interreligious correspondence that move beyond the traditional apologetic framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/en\/chercheur\/emmanuel-pisani\/?lang=en\"><strong>Emmanuel Pisani<\/strong><\/a>, &#8220;Towards an Islamic Theology of Interreligious Dialogue? A Critical Reading of \u02bfAbd al-\u01e6abb\u0101r al-Rif\u0101\u02bf\u012b&#8217;s al-kal\u0101m al-\u01e7ad\u012bd&#8221;<\/strong> analyses the thought of this Iraqi philosopher (born in 1954), proponent of the <em>kal\u0101m al-\u01e7ad\u012bd<\/em> (the &#8220;new theology&#8221;). Al-Rif\u0101\u02bf\u012b calls for a radical refoundation of Islamic theology, holding that classical <em>kal\u0101m<\/em> remains caught within an apologetic framework that cannot ground a genuine culture of dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/en\/chercheur\/guy-raymond-sarkis\/?lang=en\"><strong>Guy-Raymond Sarkis<\/strong><\/a>, &#8220;\u1e24aydar Ibr\u0101h\u012bm \u02bfAl\u012b, a Thinker on Multiple Fronts&#8221;<\/strong> retraces the itinerary of this Sudanese sociologist and thinker (born in 1943), exiled on account of his opposition to political Islam. Inspired by Latin American liberation theologies, \u02bfAl\u012b shifts Christian-Muslim dialogue away from dogmatic impasses and towards a shared commitment to the oppressed and the marginalised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/en\/chercheur\/leila-tauil\/?lang=en\"><strong>Le\u00efla Tauil<\/strong><\/a>, &#8220;Mohammed Arkoun and the Deconstructive Reading of the Quran: Revisiting the Polemical Verses Concerning the &#8216;People of the Book'&#8221;<\/strong> probes how the Islamologist Mohammed Arkoun, drawing on the tools of modern human sciences, deconstructed the Quranic verses polemical towards Jews and Christians. She highlights the fruitful articulation between linguistics, epistemological critique and theology, and recalls how the debate on the created versus uncreated Quran constitutes a contemporary hermeneutical lever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/en\/chercheur\/gabriel-said-reynolds\/?lang=en\"><strong>Gabriel Said Reynolds<\/strong><\/a>, &#8220;God and His Promise in the Quran&#8221;<\/strong> closes the issue with a reading of the Quranic theme of &#8220;God&#8217;s promise&#8221; in the context of religious competition among the monotheistic communities of Late Antiquity. Through a comparative analysis with the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, he shows how the Quran mobilises divine promise as a language of community persuasion, centred on Judgement and the afterlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reference and access<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Laval th\u00e9ologique et philosophique<\/em>, vol. 82, no. 1 (2026).
