As an introduction to the international congress to be held in Cordoba from 10 to 14 February 2026, the scientific committee of <em>Pluriel<\/em> is hosting a webinar on 16 October at 4:00 pm (Paris time) on the theme &#8220;Ethics and Aesthetics in Islamic Heritage: Continuities, Transformations, and Reinventions in Muslim Societies&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The webinar aims to introduce the main themes of the congress. Through the presentations of <strong>Maria del Mar Griera Llonch<\/strong> (Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain), <strong>Emilio Gonz\u00e1lez Ferr\u00edn<\/strong> (University of Seville, Spain) and <strong>Mohamed El Ma\u00e2zouz<\/strong> (anthropologist, Morocco), it will highlight how the articulation \u2014 or the tension \u2014 between ethics and aesthetics runs through the history of Islamic heritage and continues to fuel contemporary debates. Attend the webinar and apply for a grant to attend the Cordoba congress in February 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of its 5th international congress in Cordoba, the scientific committee is offering grants to students wishing to attend the congress. The grants, worth \u20ac1,200, will cover the accommodation and living expenses of selected candidates from 10 to 14 February 2026 in Cordoba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Candidates will be selected on the basis of their participation in the webinar organised by the scientific committee on <strong>16 October 2025 at 4:00 pm<\/strong>, on the theme of <strong><em>Ethics and Aesthetics: Continuities, Transformations, and Reinventions in Muslim Societies<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the webinar, three scholars \u2014 Maria del Mar Griera Llonch, Emilio Gonz\u00e1lez Ferr\u00edn, and Mohamed El Ma\u00e2zouz \u2014 will present their analyses. The papers will be delivered in three different languages: English, French, and Arabic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students seeking selection for the Cordoba congress must submit a dossier synthesising the arguments presented by the speakers during the webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Objectives of the research dossier:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Present a clear and coherent synthesis of the papers by Maria del Mar Griera Llonch, Emilio Gonz\u00e1lez Ferr\u00edn, and Mohamed El Ma\u00e2zouz.<\/li><li>Analyse the arguments put forward by the speakers and compare them with other sources.<\/li><li>Analyse, through personal research, the issues related to continuity, transformation, or reinvention of the relation between ethics and aesthetics in contemporary Muslim societies, as raised during the webinar.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Format:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The word count must be between 2,000 and 2,500 (13,000\u201317,000 characters including spaces).<\/li><li>The dossier must be written in French, English, or Arabic.<\/li><li>The document should be submitted electronically in PDF and Word format to <strong>&#112;&#x6c;u&#x72;i&#101;&#x6c;&#64;&#x75;n&#105;&#x76;&#45;&#x63;a&#x74;&#x68;&#111;&#x6c;y&#x6f;n&#46;&#x66;&#114;<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deadline:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The deadline for submission is <strong>28 November 2025<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Evaluation criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Synthesis (6 points)<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Clear and concise synthesis of the papers \/3<\/li><li>Coherent presentation of ideas \/3<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Analysis of arguments (8 points)<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Understanding and analysis of the speakers&#8217; arguments \/4<\/li><li>Use of additional sources to compare arguments \/4<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Assessment of issues or impacts (6 points)<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Clear identification of the chosen axis \/3<\/li><li>In-depth analysis of the issues or impacts related to the chosen axis \/3<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Total: \/20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We encourage students to draw on the knowledge acquired during the webinar and to carry out further research to develop a well-argued, original, and scholarly analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submitted dossiers will be evaluated by the PLURIEL scientific committee, which will select the recipients of the grants for participation in the Cordoba congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The committee will meet on <strong>4 December 2025<\/strong> to examine the dossiers.
