In light of this recognition, new academic dynamics are emerging in European countries, drawing on Islamic Studies. The task is to approach the study of Islam \u2014 its sacred texts, its thinkers, its law, its theology, its mysticism, its philosophy \u2014 from the Islamic sources themselves, sources that must be contextualised in relation to a political and religious environment and approached in dialogue with a textual context, not necessarily Islamic, that emerges from a set of interactions, dialogues, encounters and positionings within diverse social and intellectual environments. Islamic Studies gives an account of the discourse of Muslim thinkers on Islam by establishing filiations and genealogies. Through the historical, critical and philological method, it contributes to deconstructing dogmatic closures and the sacralisation of &#8220;narratives&#8221; elaborated by the Islamic tradition.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The articulation of Islamic Studies with the &#8220;classical&#8221; disciplines taught at university has not yet been achieved.
