Etymologically, the noun \u00e2khar from the verb \u00e2khara, rather draws the action of postponing, \u0623\u064e\u062e\u064e\u0651\u0631\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0639\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0644\u064e, or temporarily deprogramming an action. al-\u00e2khar on some other hand does not establish a binary relationship of ‘me’ to the other, but institutes the sense of difference between two things. al-ghayr, the other noun that translates ‘otherness’ is used as a noun to denote in the Arabic language, among other things, the dispositions of exception. Whereas al-ghayriyya is a substantival construction that again refers to the difference between two things. From this point of view, the Arabic terms close to the notion of otherness in the Western sense, al-\u00e2khar as well as the construction of “al-ghairyy\u00e2”, summon the distinction or difference without necessarily meaning opposition.
\nBased on the above linguistic and cultural postulates, what is the nature of otherness in Islam and what is the logic of its writing in the Qur’anic text? <\/p>\n
