{"id":35522,"date":"2026-02-10T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/videos\/axiological-approaches-to-the-islamic-phenomenon\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T08:11:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T07:11:19","slug":"axiological-approaches-to-the-islamic-phenomenon","status":"publish","type":"videos","link":"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/en\/videos\/axiological-approaches-to-the-islamic-phenomenon\/","title":{"rendered":"Axiological approaches to the Islamic phenomenon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Paper presented at the 5th international congress of the <a href=\"https:\/\/pluriel.fuce.eu\/en\/\">University Platform for Research on Islam (Pluriel)<\/a>, held in Cordoba from 10 to 14 February 2026 on the theme &#8220;Ethics and Aesthetics in Islam&#8221;. <strong>Ghaleb Bencheikh<\/strong> (Foundation for Islam of France) spoke as part of the inaugural lecture.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Summary of the paper<\/h3>\n<p>Theological and metaphysical thought in Islamic contexts helped to shape a system of values that has played a fundamental role as a social and cultural bond in Muslim-majority societies throughout history.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond logic and rhetoric, the two disciplines at the heart of axiology, ethics and aesthetics, are omnipresent in the moral, intellectual and artistic self-definition of Islamic civilisation.
