Beate Bengard
Born in 1978, Beate Bengard is an Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at the Autonomous Faculty of Theology of the University of Geneva and a member of the Romand Institute of Systematic Theology and Ethics (IRSE).
After studying Protestant theology and French literature in Dresden, Leipzig, Lausanne, and Paris, she obtained a joint doctorate from the universities of Strasbourg and Leipzig. Her thesis was awarded the University of Strasbourg Prize.
From 2007 to 2021, she taught systematic theology in Leipzig, Greifswald, and Basel. During her postdoctoral studies, she was a researcher at the Fonds Ricoeur in Paris (2014-2015) and a collaborator on the INTER-RELIGIO project at the University of Basel (2017-2019).
Her research focuses on the theology of religions, ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, philosophy of religions, Christian anthropology, and eschatology. She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on these topics.
