Xavier Gravend-Tirole
Born in 1975 and holding Canadian, French and Swiss citizenship, Xavier Gravend-Tirole is an assistant professor of ethics and spirituality at the Institute of Religious Studies of the University of Montreal. In 2018 he completed a doctorate in theology and religious studies, under joint supervision between the Universities of Montreal and Lausanne, devoted to religious métissage. Educated at McGill University (B.A. in religious studies and philosophy), the Institut catholique de Paris (bachelor’s in theology) and Harvard Divinity School (master’s), he was a fellow of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation and an assistant at the University of Lausanne, where he also served as Catholic chaplain at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). His research addresses systematic theology, interreligious and interspiritual dialogue, and theological anthropology. He is co-editor-in-chief of the journal Studies in Religion / Sciences Religieuses.
