Publisher : PISAI - Rome
“PISAI is pleased to announce the publication of Islamochristiana 48 (dated 2022), an issue devoted to the theme “The theological engagement of Christians with Islam”.
The encounter between Christians and Muslims, from the very beginning, has encouraged Christians to draw on the resources of their faith to reflect on and respond to Islam, engaging with it theologically in various ways and contexts. The first section of this issue features interesting contributions exploring some Christian theological approaches to different aspects of Islam, as well as themes emerging from the Christian-Muslim encounter: from current debates on the origins of Islam to the thought of Louis Massignon.
In two other sections, articles are presented on issues relating to relations, dialogue and cooperation between Christians and Muslims, as well as in the fields of Islam and Arab-Christian studies. Each article is accompanied by a summary in two languages, giving the reader an immediate overview of the subject. As usual, a rich ‘Notes and Documents’ section and a selection of reviews round off this substantial issue.
PISAI warmly thanks Professor Valentino Cottini, who edited the journal from 2005 to 2021, producing 17 high-quality issues.”
