The dialogue between the Islam of the brotherhoods and Catholicism as a contribution to stability in Senegal, by Pierre-Marie Niang OP

The Kircher Network (Jesuit Higher Education in Europe and the Near East) is organising a webinar with Father Pierre-Marie Niang, a Senegalese Dominican, on the role of the dialogue between the Islam of the brotherhoods and Catholicism in Senegal’s stability.

A doctor of systematic theology from the Catholic University of West Africa (UCAO, Abidjan), with a specialisation in Christian-Muslim dialogue, Pierre-Marie Niang is the founder and director of the Centre for Christian-Muslim Dialogue at Saint Dominic Parish in Dakar. He draws on his field experience to explore how the coexistence between Muslim brotherhoods and the Christian minority contributes to the country’s social cohesion.

Le réseau Kircher (Jesuit Higher Education in Europe and the Near East) organise un webinaire avec le frère Pierre-Marie Niang, dominicain sénégalais, sur le rôle du dialogue entre l’islam confrérique et le catholicisme dans la stabilité du Sénégal.

Docteur en théologie systématique de l’Université catholique de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (UCAO, Abidjan), avec une spécialisation en dialogue islamo-chrétien, Pierre-Marie Niang est le fondateur et directeur du Centre de dialogue islamo-chrétien de la paroisse Saint-Dominique de Dakar. Il s’appuie sur sa pratique de terrain pour explorer la manière dont la coexistence entre confréries musulmanes et minorité chrétienne contribue à la cohésion sociale du pays.

حاصل على الدكتوراه في اللاهوت النظامي من الجامعة الكاثوليكية لغرب إفريقيا (UCAO، أبيدجان) باختصاص الحوار الإسلامي المسيحي، يُعدّ بيار-ماري نيانغ مؤسس ومدير مركز الحوار الإسلامي المسيحي في رعية القديس دومينيك بمدينة داكار. ويستند إلى خبرته الميدانية ليستكشف كيف يُسهم التعايش بين الطرق الصوفية المسلمة والأقلية المسيحية في التماسك الاجتماعي للبلاد.
