Study day “The emergence of Islam in a Christian context” in Lyon
Organized by the Center for the Study of Cultures and Religions (CECR) of the Catholic University of Lyon, France
It is now established that Christianity was the majority religion in the region where the Quran was born. During this day, we propose two approaches that highlight this truth: by emphasizing the birth of Arab Christian theology and its interaction with nascent Islam, and then by following the link between the Quran and the Syriac Christian tradition.
