Bridges of Faith between Christians and Muslims, with Bishop Bertram Meier, Timo Güzelmansur and Gönül Yerli

On Friday 23 October 2026, the Academic Forum of the Diocese of Augsburg, in cooperation with the diocesan office for ecumenism and interreligious dialogue, is holding an evening of talks and music at the Moritzsaal in Augsburg entitled Brücken des Glaubens. Wege zu Verständigung zwischen Christen und Muslimen (Bridges of Faith: Paths to Understanding between Christians and Muslims). In the spirit of Pope Leo XIV, who, like his predecessors, is committed to encounter and understanding between Muslims and Christians, the evening brings together the perspectives of a bishop, a theologian and a Muslim community leader.

Programme:

  • 6:40 pm: Bishop Bertram Meier, Bishop of Augsburg and chair of the German Bishops’ Conference Commission for the Universal Church, shares his personal impressions of Christian-Muslim dialogue and the conclusions he draws from it, based on his travels in the service of the universal Church;
  • 7:25 pm: Timo Güzelmansur, director of CIBEDO, the German Bishops’ Conference office for interreligious dialogue, and consultor to the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, presents the theological foundations, successful encounters and points of conflict in Christian-Muslim dialogue, in Germany and internationally; he played a major part in drafting the German Bishops’ Conference’s new guidance document on Christian-Muslim dialogue;
  • 8:25 pm: Gönül Yerli, director of the Islamic Forum of Penzberg, speaks about the practice of dialogue in a multi-ethnic Muslim community and about the Qur’an’s view of Christianity, in particular of Jesus, son of Mary;
  • 8:55 pm: questions to the speakers.

The evening is moderated by Frederic-Joachim Kaminski, with music by the singer Öykü Şensöz and Şeref Dalyanoğlu, who combine Western and Eastern musical traditions.

Le vendredi 23 octobre 2026, l’Académie du diocèse d’Augsbourg (Akademisches Forum), en coopération avec le service diocésain pour l’œcuménisme et le dialogue interreligieux, organise au Moritzsaal d’Augsbourg une soirée de conférences et de musique intitulée Brücken des Glaubens. Wege zu Verständigung zwischen Christen und Muslimen (« Ponts de la foi : chemins d’entente entre chrétiens et musulmans »). Dans la ligne du pape Léon XIV, qui mise comme ses prédécesseurs sur la rencontre et la compréhension entre musulmans et chrétiens, elle croise le regard d’un évêque, d’un théologien et d’une responsable musulmane.

Au programme :

  • 18h40 : Mgr Bertram Meier, évêque d’Augsbourg et président de la commission Église universelle de la Conférence épiscopale allemande, partage ses impressions et ses conclusions sur le dialogue islamo-chrétien, à partir de ses voyages au service de l’Église universelle ;
  • 19h25 : Timo Güzelmansur, directeur du CIBEDO, service de la Conférence épiscopale allemande pour le dialogue interreligieux, et consulteur du Dicastère pour le dialogue interreligieux, présente les fondements théologiques, les rencontres réussies et les sujets de conflit du dialogue islamo-chrétien, en Allemagne et dans le contexte international ; il a largement contribué au nouveau document d’orientation de la Conférence épiscopale allemande sur le dialogue islamo-chrétien ;
  • 20h25 : Gönül Yerli, directrice du Forum islamique de Penzberg, témoigne de la pratique du dialogue dans une communauté musulmane multiethnique et présente le regard du Coran sur le christianisme, notamment sur Jésus, fils de Marie ;
  • 20h55 : questions aux intervenants.

La soirée est animée par Frederic-Joachim Kaminski et ponctuée de musique par la chanteuse Öykü Şensöz et Şeref Dalyanoğlu, qui associent traditions musicales d’Occident et d’Orient.

يومَ الجمعة 23 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2026، تُقام في قاعة موريتس (Moritzsaal) بمدينة أوغسبورغ أمسيةٌ من المحاضرات والموسيقى بعنوان «جسور الإيمان: طرق التفاهم بين المسيحيين والمسلمين»، تنظّمها الأكاديمية التابعة لأبرشية أوغسبورغ (Akademisches Forum) بالتعاون مع المكتب الأبرشي للمسكونية والحوار بين الأديان. وعلى خطى البابا لاوُن الرابع عشر الذي يراهن، كأسلافه، على اللقاء والتفاهم بين المسلمين والمسيحيين، تجمع الأمسية بين رؤى أسقف ولاهوتي ومسؤولة مسلمة.

البرنامج:

  • 18:40: يعرض المطران برترام ماير، أسقف أوغسبورغ ورئيس لجنة الكنيسة الجامعة في مؤتمر الأساقفة الألمان، انطباعاته واستنتاجاته حول الحوار الإسلامي المسيحي، انطلاقاً من أسفاره في خدمة الكنيسة الجامعة؛
  • 19:25: يقدّم تيمو غوزيلمانسور، مدير مركز CIBEDO التابع لمؤتمر الأساقفة الألمان للحوار بين الأديان، والمستشار في دائرة الحوار بين الأديان في الكرسي الرسولي، الأسسَ اللاهوتية للحوار الإسلامي المسيحي، ونماذجَ ناجحة منه، والقضايا الخلافية فيه، في ألمانيا وعلى الصعيد الدولي، وقد أسهم إسهاماً كبيراً في إعداد الوثيقة التوجيهية الجديدة لمؤتمر الأساقفة الألمان حول الحوار الإسلامي المسيحي؛
  • 20:25: تتحدّث غونول يرلي، مديرة المنتدى الإسلامي في بينتسبرغ، عن ممارسة الحوار في جماعة مسلمة متعدّدة الأعراق، وعن نظرة القرآن إلى المسيحية، ولا سيّما إلى عيسى ابن مريم؛
  • 20:55: أسئلة للمتحدّثين.

ويدير الأمسيةَ فريدريك يواخيم كامينسكي، وتتخلّلها موسيقى تؤدّيها المغنّية أويكو شنسوز وشرف داليان أوغلو، اللذان يمزجان بين التقاليد الموسيقية الغربية والشرقية.
