Hicham Abdel Gawad
Hicham Abdel Gawad holds a doctorate in religious studies and works as a writer and trainer in the study of religion in society. In 2022 he defended his doctoral thesis at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCLouvain), in joint supervision with the Université libre de Bruxelles, under the direction of Guillaume Dye and Jean Leclercq: “Deconstruction of doctrinal representations of Islamic signature. A paradigm shift from a rhetoric of the absolute to a reflexive religious hermeneutics.” His research addresses the historical-critical approach to Islam, comparative Christian and Muslim dogmatics, and ethics applied to Christian-Muslim dialogue. He teaches university courses on neutrality and religion in society.
