Florence Ollivry
Florence Ollivry is Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Ibn Haldun University (Istanbul) since June 2024.
Holder of a PhD in religious studies from the University of Montreal and the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE/PSL) since 2020, she previously conducted several anthropological investigations of religion in Syria and Lebanon. Her thesis, published by Brill in 2023 under the title Louis Massignon et la mystique musulmane, addresses the epistemology of Islamic studies and the place of subjectivity in the religious sciences.
Her current research bears on the vision of the natural world in classical Sufism and on environmental ethics in comparative perspective.
At the Pluriel Congress in Cordoba in February 2026, she delivered a paper entitled : « The contemplation of the signs of God according to Ibn Barraǧān of Seville ».
