Kerstin Wonisch
An Austrian national, Kerstin Wonisch is a jurist and scholar of religious studies, a researcher at the Institute for Minority Rights of EURAC Research (Bolzano). A doctor of the University of Graz (2022), she devoted her doctoral research to religious minorities in Islamic law. She also teaches Islamic law and the sociology of law and religion at the universities of Graz and Innsbruck.
Her research focuses on the rights of religious minorities in international and traditional Islamic law, the governance of religious diversity, Islamic pluralism, and on religion, gender and human rights. She co-edited the collective volumes Religious Minorities in Pluralist Societies and Religious Diversity, State, and Law (Brill).
