Amany Fouad Salib
Amany Fouad Salib holds a doctorate in religious studies from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) and is an associate researcher at the Centre for Research on Immigration, Ethnicity and Citizenship (CRIEC) at UQAM. She was previously a lecturer at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.
Her research focuses on the construction of otherness in Islamism, the analysis of the discourse of the contemporary Islamic fundamentalist movement (its theorists, dogmatic foundations and socio-political impact), jihad (media discourse, theory and praxis), stereotypes between Islamic radicalism and the West, and the challenges of integrating Muslim communities in lands of immigration.
