A thesis on the importance of Jesus in Islam rewarded

The Faculty of Theology in Paderborn has awarded the Friedrich Spee Prize 2020 to Dr. Cornelia Dockter for her dissertation “Word in the Spirit. On the Importance of Jesus Christ in Christianity and Islam ”. The dissertation was written by Prof. Dr. Josef Meyer zu Schlochtern , professor for fundamental theology at the Theological Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Klaus von Stosch , professor of systematic theology at the University of Paderborn, supervised and awarded the top grade summa cum laude .

The Friedrich Spee Prize for outstanding academic work in theology, donated by the Bank for Church and Caritas Paderborn eG, is endowed with 5,000 euros for dissertations. Together with Prof. Dr. Stefan Kopp , the rector of the Theological Faculty, therefore handed over to Dr. Richard Böger, CEO of the Bank for Church and Caritas, presented the certificate to the award winner.

In his report on the value of the work, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Dahlke , Chair of Dogmatics and the History of Dogma, presented the award with the words: “On a total of 400 pages, Dr. Cornelia Dockter an impressive panorama of theological arguments. In doing so, she has made an important contribution to systematic theology that will most likely be perceived and received within dogmatics. “

Dr. Cornelia Dockter studied Catholic theology and Spanish at the University of Cologne from 2006 to 2012 and completed her studies in July 2012 with the state examination. Since December 2012, she has been doing a doctoral degree in Catholic theology at the University of Paderborn with Prof. Dr. Klaus von Stosch and also works there as a research assistant.

La Faculté de théologie de Paderborn a décerné le prix Friedrich Spee 2020 au Dr. Cornelia Dockter pour sa thèse «Word in the Spirit. Sur l’importance de Jésus-Christ dans le christianisme et l’islam ». La thèse a été dirigée par le professeur Dr. Josef Meyer zu Schlochtern , professeur de théologie fondamentale à la Faculté de théologie, et le professeur Dr. Klaus von Stosch , professeur de théologie systématique à l’Université de Paderborn, a supervisé et décerné le summa cum laude .

Le prix Friedrich Spee pour un travail académique exceptionnel en théologie, offert par la Bank for Church et Caritas Paderborn eG, est doté de 5 000 euros pour les mémoires. Avec le professeur Dr. Stefan Kopp , le recteur de la Faculté de théologie, a donc remis la main au Dr. Richard Böger, PDG de la Bank for Church et Caritas, a remis le certificat au lauréat.

Dans son rapport sur la valeur du travail, le Prof. Dr. Benjamin Dahlke , président de la dogmatique et de l’histoire du dogme, a remis le prix avec les mots suivants: «Sur un total de 400 pages, Dr. Cornelia Dockter un panorama impressionnant d’arguments théologiques. Ce faisant, elle a apporté une contribution importante à la théologie systématique qui sera très probablement perçue et reçue dans la dogmatique. ”
