Souraya Bechealany
Souraya Bechealany is a professor of dogmatic theology and director of the Centre for Research in Religious Sciences (CRSR) of the Faculty of Religious Sciences at Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), where she teaches. An ecclesiologist and ecumenist, she holds two doctorates: in theology from the Loyola Faculties in Paris (Centre Sèvres) and in religious sciences from Saint Joseph University of Beirut.
She is a member of the international mixed commission for theological dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches, a member of the Syriacum Group of the Pro Oriente Foundation, and a founding member of the Jean Corbon Foundation. She was secretary general of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) from 2018 to 2020.
