Marta González García de Paredes
Born in Spain in 1988, Marta González García de Paredes is an Associate Professor (Profesora Permanente Laboral) of political science at Pablo de Olavide University in Seville (Department of Public Law, Area of Political Science and Administration), a position she took up in 2023 after teaching Middle East studies at Loyola Andalusia University. She holds a PhD in social sciences from the University of Granada (2021) and degrees in political science from the University of Granada and Sciences Po Bordeaux.
Her research focuses on the political representation and participation of young people in the Maghreb, particularly in Morocco (parliamentary youth quotas, fieldwork in the Moroccan Parliament between 2016 and 2021), on generational renewal and political change, and on integration and socio-cultural diversity in the border cities of the Strait of Gibraltar.
She has published in journals such as Representation, The Journal of North African Studies and the Revista de Estudios Internacionales Mediterráneos, and co-edited the Morocco political chronicle of the journal l’Année du Maghreb (2019-2020), of which she is an editorial board member.
