Interreligious dialogue: what future?
Under the direction of Michel Younès and Pierre Diarra, this book brings together the contributions of the many speakers at the colloquium “Quand le dialogue interreligieux se fait difficile”, held in Lyon and Paris on 11 and 12 May 2016.
In a fragile national and world context, because of human situations lived in pain, or sometimes abrupt doctrinal statements, interreligious dialogue is less and less a recipe. It has never been more necessary and yet the obstacles that stand in its way may seem insurmountable…. First, it is important to name these difficulties at all levels in order to analyze and understand them. Second, it is essential for those who engage in interreligious dialogue to examine the challenges to be met, in particular by articulating dialogue and calling for conversion. Finally, it is important to learn from all the peacemakers of yesterday and today who precede us on this path of dialogue and who, through their witness, enlighten us on our journey. Sous la direction de Michel Younès et Pierre Diarra, ce livre réunit les contributions des nombreux intervenants au colloque “Quand le dialogue interreligieux se fait difficile”, qui s’est tenu à Lyon et Paris les 11 et 12 mai 2016.
Dans un contexte national et mondial fragile, à cause de situations humaines vécues dans la douleur, ou d’affirmations doctrinales parfois abruptes, le dialogue interreligieux fait de moins en moins recette . Il n’a jamais été aussi nécessaire et pourtant, les obstacles qui l’entravent peuvent paraître insurmontables…. Il importe, d’abord, de nommer ces difficultés, à tous les niveaux, pour les analyser et les comprendre. Ensuite, s’interroger sur les défis à relever est essentiel, pour ceux qui s’engagent dans le dialogue interreligieux, en articulant notamment dialogue et appel à la conversion. Enfin, il est important de se mettre à l’école de tous les artisans de paix d’hier et d’aujourd’hui qui nous précèdent sur ce chemin du dialogue et qui, par leur témoignage, éclairent notre route. Alors se dégagent des pistes de réponse à cette question brûlante : que faire quand le dialogue interreligieux devient difficile ?
