Proceedings of the first PLURIEL Congress

Publication of the proceedings of the first PLURIEL Congress that was held in Lyon Catholic University, 6th to 9th September 2016.

Directed by Ali Mostfa and Michel Younès.

The theme of the Congress was Islam in plural. Thought, faith and society.

The main objective was to cross our analyses and methodologies for a better perception of the current Islamic reality.

The programme of the three days was structured around three areas:

– The geopolitical area was about the current dynamics and their economic and confessional developments;
– The theological area focused on issues in the context of the interfaith dialogue;
– Societal part highlighted the diversity inherent in any religious movement, especially in the way of facing the challenges of modernity.
