Born in Egypt, Nada Amin holds a PhD in Arabic linguistics and civilisations from Université Lumière Lyon 2 (France), affiliated with the Centre for Applied Linguistic Research (CeRLA, ED 3LA). In January 2026, she defended a thesis on the instrumentalisation of gender in post-revolutionary Egypt (2011-2023), under the supervision of Stéphane Valter.

A graduate in Islamic Studies (Aix-Marseille / Strasbourg / INALCO / IFI) and scholarship holder of the French Institute for Islamic Studies (IFI), she also holds a certificate in religious sciences and social sciences from the Dominican Institute for Oriental Studies (IDEO, Cairo, 2024). Her academic path combines gender studies (Master 2 Matilda, Lyon 2), international relations (Master 2 IEP Grenoble) and Arabic studies (LEA degree, Ain Shams University, Cairo).

Her research focuses on the politicisation of gender issues in the « New Republic » project in Egypt, Islamic feminism, the rereading of religious texts, and the place of Christian women in Muslim communities. As a Teaching and Research Fellow (ATER) in the Arab Worlds Department at Université Paris 8, she has also taught at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, Université Paris Cité and the INALCO, covering Arabic language, history and political sociology of the Arab worlds. In February 2026, she spoke at the 5th Pluriel Congress in Cordoba with a paper entitled Aesthetics, ethics and identity: the body of women as an object of debate in contemporary Egypt. She is a member of the HALQA association (young researchers in social sciences on the contemporary Muslim world, affiliated with the IISMM).
