Cornelia Dockter
Born in 1987 in Germany, Cornelia Dockter is a junior professor of ecumenical theology at the Theological Faculty of Paderborn (Theologische Fakultät Paderborn) and, since 2025, associate director of the Johann-Adam-Möhler Institute for Ecumenism.
After studying Catholic theology and Spanish at the University of Cologne (2006-2012), she completed a doctorate in Catholic theology at the University of Paderborn under the supervision of Klaus von Stosch. Her dissertation, on the significance of Jesus Christ in Christianity and Islam, was awarded the Friedrich Spee Prize in 2020. She then held postdoctoral positions in Paderborn and at the Center for Comparative Theology and Social Issues (CTSI) at the University of Bonn (2021-2024).
Her research focuses on comparative theology between Christianity and Islam, Christology read in the light of the Quranic categories of the Word and the Spirit of God, ecclesiology, and sacramental theology from an ecumenical perspective.
