Indonesian delegation

The purpose of this Christian-Muslim partnership (a frequent configuration in Indonesia) is to promote in the West, both among Muslim populations and with political leaders, an open Islam turned towards the future and a certain model of inter-confessional coexistence. This delegation of Muslim leaders is accompanied by the President of the Leimena Institute: all are progressive intellectuals with significant influence in Indonesia, including in the political sphere. They embody the willingness of a large part of Indonesian Islam to respond vigorously to identity-based tensions and to carry a strong voice in favour of pluralism through the renewal of a theology of openness.

FILMED MOMENT OF THE MEETING:

Le but de cette association entre chrétiens et musulmans (assez fréquente en Indonésie) est de promouvoir en Occident, à la fois au sein des populations musulmanes et auprès des responsables politique, un islam ouvert, résolument tourné vers l’avenir et un certain modèle de cohabitation interconfessionnelle. Cette délégation de dirigeants musulmans est accompagnée par le président de l’Institut Leimena : tous sont des intellectuels progressistes ayant une grande influence en Indonésie y compris dans le champ politique. Ils symbolisent la volonté d’une grande partie de l’islam indonésien de réagir vigoureusement face aux crispations identitaires et de porter une parole forte en faveur du pluralisme à travers le renouveau d’une théologie d’ouverture.

MOMENT FILMÉ DE LA RENCONTRE :

تهدف هذه الشراكة بين المسيحيين والمسلمين (وهي شائعة في إندونيسيا) إلى الترويج في الغرب، سواء في أوساط السكان المسلمين أو لدى المسؤولين السياسيين، لإسلام منفتح متوجّه نحو المستقبل، ونموذج معيّن من العيش المشترك بين الطوائف. يرافق هذا الوفد من الشخصيات الإسلامية القيادية رئيسُ معهد Leimena؛ وجميعهم من المثقّفين التقدّميين ذوي التأثير الكبير في إندونيسيا، بما في ذلك في المجال السياسي. ويُجسّدون إرادةَ جزءٍ كبيرٍ من الإسلام الإندونيسي في التصدّي بحزم للتشنّجات الهوياتية وحمل صوت قويّ لصالح التعدّدية عبر تجديد لاهوت الانفتاح.
