Living together with Muslims in Europe. Overcoming fear: a “spiritual exercise”
In many European countries, the recent arrival of Muslims who have not directly shared their long history, or who have shared it differently from the majority of their population, as colonized for example, has produced and produced still a lot of friction when it comes to living together. Muslims are in fact often regarded as bearers of values which do not always seem to agree, for various reasons, with those of the society which originally welcomed them. We are of course talking about Western Europe here, since the Muslim presence in the Balkans goes back several centuries and is the basis of the birth and development of these countries.
