Zwischen Dolorismus und Perfektionismus. Konturen einer politischen Theologie der Verwundbarkeit.(
Based on a thorough discussion of Talal Asad’s seminal studies of the secular and its hidden exclusivist structures, particularly concerning Islam, Michaela Neulinger looks for the enduring legitimate contribution of religions to the common good, the normative core of politics in an age of secularity and religious plurality. The suggested “Political Theology of Vulnerability” brings theology into dialogue with anthropology, social psychology and political theory and shows, how a productive theological answer to the vulnerability of human existence can foster resistance against religious and political totalitarianism and support empathy and solidarity, the thick ground of democracy.

Michaela NEULINGER
