At the opening of the fourth congress of the University Platform for Research on Islam Pluriel, which celebrates its tenth anniversary, Michel Younès expressed his pride in the advances made in terms of exchanges and dissemination of modern thought on Islam. Bringing together 180 researchers from more than 25 countries, the platform aims to make Arabic an official language of dissemination, notably through the publication of the proceedings of the Beirut congress in three languages. Referring to the Document on Human Fraternity signed in 2019 by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Michel Younès questioned the means of achieving this fraternity in a world marked by extremism in the name of religion.
