Reshape of the Congress ‘Islam & Otherness’

The PLURIEL platform, as an inter-university network, has not been spared by the continuing health crisis. Our 3rd International Congress, already postponed by one year during the first European Coronavirus wave, was scheduled to take place in April 2021 in Beirut. In view of the many restrictions still in force in many countries, the Pluriel coordination committee, composed of 11 members from different institutions of the network, decided a reshape of the Congress “Islam and Otherness” in two stages:

  • A first virtual stage on the dates of 13 and 14 April 2021, with part of the initial programme
  • A second stage in Beirut in 2022,

The programme for 13 and 14 April 2021 will soon be adapted to this new timetable. Please keep your availability for these dates. The intention is to keep the entire programme. Speakers will be contacted around mid-January to validate their availability and the mode of communication.

We would like to thank our Lebanese partners for their flexibility and support in these troubled times. This difficult choice is also motivated by the opportunity to develop our online activities within the network and by the hope to organise a first-rate academic meeting in Beirut in 2022.
