The laboratory of the Institute of Science and Theology of Religions of Paris (Theologicum, ICP) presents here the outcome of four years of research on the theme of religious pluralism in Islam. While Catholic theology has been engaged for nearly a century in a profound reflection on the theological status of other religions and on the possibility of conceiving them as paths of salvation ordered to Christ and to the Church, reflection in Islam is more recent. However, among Muslim thinkers, a pluralist sphere is emerging, bringing together diverse personalities from all continents. Intellectuals such as the Egyptian Gamal al-Banna, the Australian Abdullah Saeed, the Lebanese Mahmoud Ayoub, the Senegalese Souleymane Diagne, the American Jerusha Tanner Lamptey, the Malaysian Muhammad Kamali, the Tunisian Adnane Mokrani, the Afrikaner Farid Esack, and the Frenchman Tariq Oubrou contribute to this stimulating dialogue. The proceedings presented in this book allow for the exploration of these various perspectives, while probing the Islamic heritage in search of possible traces of pluralism. Moreover, the book takes into account thoughts and theologies that oppose pluralism, thus offering a perspective on the debates that animate contemporary Islam. It does not claim to be an exhaustive treatise on theological pluralism in Islam, but presents itself as an analytical dive into the dynamics and questionings that characterize the intellectual landscape of Islam today. Contributors to this book include: Anne-Sophie Vivier-Muresan, Aziadé Zemirli, Cédric Baylocq, Charbel Attallah, Emmanuel Pisani, Haoues Seniguer, Markus Kneer, Mohammed Chirani, Youssouf Sangaré.
