“Press Laws in Morocco: An Ideological Analysis of the Democratic (Counter)Narratives”, by Juan Antonio Macías Amoretti
In the journal Intus-Legere Historia (2025), Juan Antonio Macías Amoretti, professor of Arabic and Islamic studies at the University of Granada, analyses the press laws adopted in Morocco after the February 20th Movement of 2011.
Through critical discourse analysis, he examines Laws 88-13 (press and publishing), 89-13 (status of the professional journalist) and 90-13 (National Press Council), which together make up the Moroccan Press Code, and brings to light the tension between a proclaimed democratic narrative and an authoritarian logic of control, in which the notion of “authority” restricts the effective exercise of rights and freedoms.
Dans la revue Intus-Legere Historia (2025), Juan Antonio Macías Amoretti, professeur d’études arabes et islamiques à l’Université de Grenade, analyse les lois sur la presse adoptées au Maroc après le Mouvement du 20 février 2011.
À travers l’analyse critique du discours, il examine les lois 88-13 (presse et édition), 89-13 (statut du journaliste) et 90-13 (Conseil national de la presse) qui composent le Code de la presse marocain, et met au jour la tension entre un récit démocratique affiché et une logique autoritaire de contrôle, où la notion d’« autorité » restreint l’exercice effectif des droits et des libertés.
في مجلّةِ Intus-Legere Historia (2025)، يحلّلُ خوان أنطونيو ماسياس أموريتي، أستاذُ الدراساتِ العربيّةِ والإسلاميّةِ في جامعةِ غرناطة، قوانينَ الصحافةِ التي اعتُمِدَت في المغربِ بعدَ حركةِ 20 فبراير 2011.
ومن خلالِ التحليلِ النقديِّ للخطاب، يدرسُ القوانينَ 88-13 (الصحافةُ والنشر) و89-13 (وضعُ الصحفيّ) و90-13 (المجلسُ الوطنيُّ للصحافة) التي تؤلّفُ مدوّنةَ الصحافةِ المغربيّة، كاشفاً عن التوتّرِ بين سردِيّةٍ ديمقراطيّةٍ معلَنةٍ ومنطقٍ سلطويٍّ للرقابة، حيثُ يُقيّدُ مفهومُ «السلطة» الممارسةَ الفعليّةَ للحقوقِ والحرّيّات.
