Juan Macias Amoretti
Juan Antonio Macías Amoretti is a Professor (Profesor Titular) of Arabic and Islamic Studies in the Department of Semitic Studies at the University of Granada, where he is a member of the research group on contemporary Arab studies. He was also an associate researcher at the Centre Jacques Berque in Rabat.
He holds a European doctorate in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Granada. His research focuses on contemporary Arab and Maghrebi political thought, political Islam, the analysis of postcolonial intellectual discourse in the Maghreb, and processes of democratization in the Arab world.
