For a human fraternity – Christians and Muslims united in diversity

Beginning with the Document on Human Brotherhood, signed in Abu Dhabi by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmad Al-Tayyib on 5 February 2019, the volume re-reads this document in the light of the relations that the Catholic Church has established with Muslims, with particular attention since the beginning of Francis’ pontificate, promoting mutual understanding and respect. At the same time, the concepts of encounter and dialogue are explored in their concrete feasibility, so that the Document “may become an object of research and reflection in all schools, universities and educational and research institutions as a contribution to the education of the younger generations for the sake of peace and the defence of the rights of the oppressed and the least”.
