The document on human fraternity: an interdisciplinary reflection

The volume, published in the series “Interreligious and Intercultural Investigations” (No. 14), brings together contributions from ten international scholars on the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Common Coexistence, signed on 4 February 2019 in Abu Dhabi by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar Ahmad al-Tayyeb.

The signing of this historic document stimulated a series of meetings and reflections, in which a joint research group of the Gregorian Centre for Interreligious Studies and the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI) undertook a journey of reflection and exchange, the fruits of which are gathered in this volume.

In addition to the contributions of the two editors, the volume includes essays by Ambrogio Bongiovanni, Valentino Cottini, Andrea Mandonico, SMA, Adnane Mokrani, Wasim Salman, Virgilio Sottana, Federico Stella and Jason Welle, OFM.
