Christianity and Islam: theologians in dialogue

co-edited by Michel Younès and André Wénin.

This book initiates a dialogue between Christian and Muslim theologians on how the former view Islam and the questions it raises for them.

Michel Younès (UCLy) introduces the overall questioning on the basis of a brief historical overview. Gabriel Sayd Reynolds (Notre-Dame, USA) proposes his vision of the Koran as a parenetic writing. Klaus von Stosch (Paderborn) shows under what conditions a Christian can see Muhammad as a “Prophet”. Henri de La Hougue (Paris) questions the respective conception of God of the two religions, and Maurice Borrmans (Rome) and Michel Younès offer their reflections on the main cultic acts in Islam, notably in the light of Vatican II.

As for Adnane Mokrani (Rome), he proposes an example of what could be a Muslim approach to the central dogmas of Christianity.
