The Legal Recognition of Contemporary Islam in Spain

Originally published as El reconocimiento jurídico del Islam contemporáneo en España in the Revista General de Derecho Canónico y Derecho Eclesiástico del Estado (no. 43, 2017), this article by José Luis Llaquet de Entrambasaguas, tenured professor of State Ecclesiastical Law at Universidad Loyola Andalucía, this article retraces the legal framework governing Islam in Spain, from the 1992 cooperation agreement with the Islamic Commission to the current issues of representation and recognition of Muslim communities.
