Thinking Jihadist Radicalisation: Actors, Theories, Transformations

Like many countries, French society is facing the rise of violent radicalisation phenomena with a politico-religious referential. From the factors of jihadist commitment to the processes of disaffiliation, through doctrinal evolutions and new cyber-recruitment strategies, the subject of ‘radicalisation’ has been approached through a very wide range of disciplines. Despite this abundant literature, a book synthesising the numerous debates on jihadist radicalisation was lacking. The present work addresses all of these issues, and more, by drawing on disciplines as diverse as sociology, psychology and geopolitics. Combining academic rigour and fieldwork based on several years of interventions in prisons, this book is already an essential contribution to understanding the multiple dimensions of jihadist radicalisation.
