Yalla Italy! The real challenges of integrating Arabs and Muslims in our country

Publisher’s Introduction

Increasingly large communities of Arabs and Muslims are changing the face of many Italian cities. This phenomenon, combined with the legitimate concerns raised by terrorism of Islamic matrix in public opinion, causes alarm and concern. However, there is a lack of a correct perception of the dynamics underway, which are often trivialised by the media, always on the lookout for sensational stories, but incapable of reporting on the reality in all its articulations. A country in disarray therefore risks losing a precious opportunity, more through its own responsibility than through the arrogance (real or supposed) of others. The challenge of integration cannot be met effectively without harnessing the best energies of the newcomers and the society that welcomes them.
